Development to my Front Cover

I have continued with my front cover production. I have added the free posters down the bottom and added a puff. I have added 4 photos that i have taken then edited to have a bright colour background behind them. I have made puff pink with white writing because this is stereotypical for a puff in a pop magazine. I think the posters down the bottom made the whole page look effective and the posters and the puff makes it look more like a magazine. All i have to do left is add my main central image, a splash and a barcode.
Again i have asked for my peers opinion;

Do you like my posters down the bottom?
I think the posters down the bottom is a really good idea but i think you need to lay it out better down the bottom and you also need to make room for a barcode.
Is my puff effective?
Yeah your pug is effective and very stereotypical for a pop magazine puff. The colours contrast well and fit in with your house style well. Although the text on the pug isn't in the centre and would be more effective if it was.

Development to my front cover

I have know started my production of my front cover. I have added my cover lines to my page which I think are looking very professional and very stereotypical for pop magazines cover lines. I have chosen that my colour scheme will be pink and blue, i have equalled out the amount of blue and pink i have used on the page and also the pink and blue in the masthead contrast well together. I have put the masthead in the right hand corner and made it bold so this will be effective and catch peoples eye. I asked my Peers for some feedback and this is what they said:

What genre would you put my magazine in?
Defiantly a pop genre. The colour scheme and the sorts of font and layout used is very stereotypical for a pop magazine.
Are my cover lines effective?
I think all your cover lines are typical for a pop magazine and seem very entertaining would draw my attention into reading. Although the blue bubble cover line looks weird with nothing underneath it.
Is my masthead in the right place?
I think its very eye-catching and effective but I'm not sure what you are going to put in the right hand corner because if your putting anything there it would look better to centre your masthead.

Front Cover Design Work: Coverlines

I have chosen my three cover lines that will go down the right-hand side of my front cover like it shows in my mock up. I have chosen to make the cover lines have a subheading which is has a pink under layer and white text on top, these colours contrast well together and connote youthfulness and funkiness. Then just plain black text to make it easier to understand and be mature to appeal to my target audience. I have chosen this because it stands out and catches you. Also this is a stereotypical layout for pop magazine cover lines.

I have chosen to use this as a cover line because its funny and people want to read the article because its going to be funny and strange. This is an unique story so this would draw there attention in.

This cover line is very stereotypical for my target audience age group. This is because Zac Efrons' gender would appeal to the teen girls and they would love to see baby pictures of there celeb crushes.

Teen girls love fashion so articles like this would really appeal to them because teen girls just try to dress as celebs.

To make the page busy and look appealing I have added another cover line but it's slightly different to the others. I have added the cover line to the other side of the page and made the cover line a circle just to mix it all up. I have chosen this story as my cover line inside the circle because I think this will be very popular with my target audience. This is because stereo typically girls love gossip and secrets about people therefore this article will appeal to them because its telling a celebrity's embarrassing secrets which girls will find exciting and amusing.

Splash- The splash is the most important cover line on the page. Therefore I have chosen to make it unique so it stands out.

I have chosen that story for my cover line because teen girls love social media, therefore they will read about anything to do with it. Another thing is stereo typically girls love gossip therefore this article will appeal to them because it is a gossip article.

Front Cover Deisign Work: Masthead

These our my four main masthead fonts I liked and thought suited my target audience and house style of my masthead the most. I have chosen to call my magazine Listen look love it because its alliteration and eye catching.

This font is called "Tekton Pro" I have liked this font because it stands out and catches the eye well. Also its san-serif and bubbly therefore would suit my targets mode of address. The style of the font connotes entertainment and joy, it also connotes that the magazine is not serious. The colours are bright and bubbly like the house style that I want to portray throughout my magazine, they also contrast well together and the blue under layer really makes it stand out. This is good and would be a good potential masthead. My feedback on my masthead this is a very good masthead and would be suitable.

The font of this potential masthead is "Gill Sans Ultra Bold" I liked this because its interesting and unique. The style of this masthead connotes entertainment and funkiness. The bright pink under layer really makes it stand out as a masthead. Although I think I have to much black in the masthead for it to suit the house style I am trying to portray. My feed back on masthead said that the font of this potential masthead wasn't appropriate to a pop magazine and the colours weren't appropriate to. Therefore this masthead is not the right sort I am looking for.

The Font of this is called "Arial Rounded MT Bold" This is my personal favourite font out of all my potential mastheads. This masthead connotes simpality, entertainment and enjoyment. The style of this masthead suits the house style I am going to portray throughout my magazine. Also it suitable for any age it still looks professional and sophisticated. I like the bright pink in the middle, but my feedback told me that the black outer line is to harsh and doesn't contrast right with the pink to be suitable for a pop magazine masthead.
The don't of my final potential masthead is "Arial Rounded MT Bold" This is the same font as the one above but I've portrayed it in another way. The style if this font connotes bubbly entertainment and youthfulness. The bright pink is a good colour to use and this font style would suit the pop music genre. My feedback told me that just the pink with no colours in the middle isn't very effective and doesn't stand out as a masthead.

The masthead I have chosen:

After analysing all my potential mastheads and reading into all the feedback my peers gave me I have decided to put two of the fonts together to make the ,masthead I am going to use. I am going to use the font "Arial Rounded MT Bold"  because I like the style of it and how it connotes entertainment and professionalism at the same time. Then I used the colour scheme for the first potential masthead because my feedback said the colours contrasted well together and stood out.  Its the perfect font to fit in with the pop genre and my age group im targeting.
